Healthy Turkey Chili Recipe

Best Turkey Chili Recipe, hearty one-pot meal. When it comes to comfort food, chili recipes are some of the most  popular dishes out there.  They are hearty, filling, and perfect for a  cold day.

Ingredients:

- ground turkey  - onion - green bell pepper - Rotel diced tomatoes - chili powder

Begin by heating 1 tbsp olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook the ground turkey

Step - by step instructions!

In the same pot, add  remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and sauté the onions. Add green bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, and minced garlic and cook for 3 mins.

Return the cooked ground turkey to the pot

Add diced tomatoes and green chilies, along with your choice of seasonings and water. Stir everything together.

Bring the contents of the pot to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer.  Let it cook uncovered for approximately 2 hours

After the initial 2 hours, add drained kidney beans and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes

If you prefer a thinner consistency, add an extra ½ cup of water.   For a thicker chili, create a cornstarch slurry, mix it in, and  cook until it thickens.
