Ingredients

  • Cream cheese – softened at room temperature.
  • Butter – softened at room temperature (salted or unsalted butter is fine)
  • Powdered sugar – or Swerve or granulated sugar pulsed in a food processor
  • Brown sugar – or Swerve or white sugar mixed with molasses (you can also use light brown sugar)
  • Vanilla extract or essence
  • Salt
  • Graham crackers – crushed for a mix-in and garnish.
  • Mini marshmallows – for a mix-in and garnish.
  • Chocolate chips – semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips (you can also use mini chocolate chips)
  • Hershey Bars – broken into pieces

How to make easy smores dip

  1. Start by making the edible raw cookie dough. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together with a hand mixer on low until smooth and creamy.

2. Add the powdered sugar and brown sugar and beat until fully combined. Definitely use 1/2 cup total of powdered sugar, otherwise the cream cheese is overpowering

3. Next, add the vanilla and salt and mix well.

4. With a fork, mix in 1 cup graham crackers, 1 cup mini marshmallows, and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Break up 2 chocolate bars and mix in.

5. Transfer cookie dip into a large bowl for serving and garnish with extra crushed graham crackers, mini marshmallows, and chocolate bar pieces.

If you want to add toasted marshmallows to your dip or a few for garnishing your dip, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread mini marshmallows on the baking sheet and turn the oven to a high broil and broil marshmallows for 1 – 1.5 minutes or until slightly toasted

Tips and tricks

  • If your cream cheese is not softened enough, your dip will be lumpy. You can let it sit out for a bit to soften or microwave it in 10-second increments until just softened but not too warm.
  • If you want a smoother dip, you can use an electric mixer to beat the cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy before adding the sugars.
  • To make cleanup easier, line your mixing bowl with plastic wrap before adding the ingredients. Then, when you’re done, simply lift the plastic wrap out of the bowl and discard it.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to feed a large crowd. Simply multiply all of the ingredients by 2 or 3. You can adjust the ingredients in the recipe card below.

Storage details

The cookie dough dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week. Just be sure to let it come to room temperature before serving, so it’s nice and creamy.
